- Can you walk us through your process of working with clients from initial consultation to project completion?
- We have simplified the process into four main steps, with side-by-side guidance at every stage. The process is refined through client collaboration, starting with a video call to align on the project’s scope, followed by sample delivery and stunning 3D design visualization of the new space. If customers like what they see, the journey culminates in the ordering of FORM cabinetry that arrives pre-assembled ready for immediate installation.
- How would you describe the style and characteristics of FORM Kitchens’ style?
- FORM Kitchens’ style is defined by its crisp, sleek lines, hidden appliances and high-end functionality. Our designs prioritize efficient use of space while ensuring that each kitchen is a bespoke fit for the client’s needs, blending modern European aesthetics with practicality. - When designing a kitchen, what is the most important factor to consider and why?
- The paramount factor when designing a kitchen is understanding the project’s end goal. This guides everything from budgeting and space planning to functionality and accessorizing. In many ways, our designers are interpreters; unpicking our clients’ visions and grounding the subsequent designs in reality.
- How do you balance aesthetics and functionality when designing kitchens for clients?
- Regardless of our name, we believe in the early modernist mantra ‘form follows function’. Recognizing that every kitchen must perform well and look great, we first focus on creating spaces that offer good flow and exceptional performance and of course ensure the visual calmness of the space reflects this internal organization. The good news is our clients tend to arrive with a pretty clear FORM aesthetic in mind, our job is to make sure the inside of every cabinet works just as hard as the outside that they’ve fallen in love with.
- Collaborating with clients is key. Could you elaborate on your approach to ensure that the kitchen renovations align seamlessly with their tastes and lifestyle preferences?
- A kitchen is both a private and a public space, so we need to understand what that transition means for every customer. For practical insights, daily kitchen routines and current frustrations are a great place to start. For style and atmospheric demands, we tap into our Inspirational Guide with over 100 ready-made element boards so clients can pick a board, tailor the style, and shop the look. This collaborative process extends to working with developers and architects too; where we spend time understanding who the target customer is, what atmosphere we are creating, and what the priorities will be for guests or the new owners of the space.

- How do you stay inspired and innovative in your approach to kitchen design and renovation, particularly in an industry that is constantly evolving?
- FORM’s team thrives on the intersection of design and engineering, from cabinetry to software, focusing on everything that simplifies and inspires a better way to live. No surprise, Europe is a great source of inspiration for materials and functionality. Closer to home, we are greatly inspired by our American clients, who are typically design enthusiasts interested in working with FORM because of the transparent digital collaboration we offer. That level of partnership is incredibly rewarding for everyone.
- What projects are you most proud of and why?
- With more than1,000 completed projects in the US, we have a lot of favorites! A couple of notable projects for developers include a series of vacation homes in Nantucket and Connecticut. We also love a recent A-frame project, completed by a great young couple living in upstate New York, and an elegant new-build in the Pacific Northwest, also built by a young couple with a family.
